The future of the minibar
The minibar is over 40 years old and it was quite the pioneer when it was first introduced in the Hong Kong Hilton Hotel. However, in modern times you have to go the extra mile for your guests – to stand out from the crowd and to give them a unique customer experience. Having a simple minibar filled with drinks and snacks is no longer cutting it. Today’s guest wants to be surprised and experience something innovative and unique!
The hotel industry is continually evolving by, for example, using big data to tailor a booking and the room to the guest’s preferences, allowing guests to stock the minibar themselves, ordering room service or snacks via their smartphones, and so on.
